Train The Trainer

Focus on Undernutrition provides train the trainer to other organisations who have licensed a toolkit to implement into another organisation.

Care home toolkit

Care home toolkit is supported by a train the trainer programme which includes pre and post coursework and attendance at a two day course, which is delivered by a dietitian from the Focus on Undernutrition team at the licensee’s organisation. The programme includes how to implement every aspect of the Focus on Undernutrition service into care homes within the licensee’s organisation.

The train the trainer programme covers:

  • Introductions and learning aims
  • Overview to Focus on Undernutrition service in care homes
  • Processes linked to service delivery
  • Care home workshop delivery
  • Process related to training
  • Marking workbooks
  • Evaluation processes and data analysis
  • Record keeping in care homes
  • Quality standards for delivery
  • Quality standards for implementation
  • Pre and post coursework

Following the train the trainer, the Focus on Undernutrition team are available to provide support through email and telephone. One site visit is completed to monitor quality standards and to provide further support.

All resources are provided to enable the delivery and implementation of the Focus on Undernutrition service into ten care homes for older people within the licensee’s organisation.

Catering course toolkit

Catering course toolkit is supported by a train the trainer programme which includes pre and post coursework and attendance at a one day course, which is delivered by a dietitian from the Focus on Undernutrition team at the licensee’s organisation. The programme includes how to implement every aspect of the catering course within the host’s organisation.

The train the trainer programme covers:

  • Introductions and learning aims
  • Overview to Focus on Undernutrition catering course
  • Establishing a local catering course
  • Detailed overview of each session
  • Processes linked to session delivery
  • Marking guidance
  • Processes after catering course
  • Quality standards for delivery and implementation
  • Practical workshop on food fortification and pureed consistency meals
  • Pre and post coursework

Following the train the trainer, the Focus on Undernutrition team are available to provide support through email and telephone. One site visit is completed to monitor quality standards and to provide further support.

All the resources are provided to deliver and implement the Focus on Undernutrition catering course for up to 50 delegates annually.
